HEPATITIS TODAY; LET'S ELIMINATE IT

Image
A healthy mind they say resides in a healthy body. It is an undisputable fact that an individual can only be productive in life if he or she has a sound health from which sound minds are borne. As humans, we are exposed to so many diseases; talk of those that can be seen or cannot be seen. To an extent, some of these diseases pose more threat to the human life than others do. Some of such diseases you can think of include; Ebola, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Rabies,  Aspergillosis, Cryptococcal meningitis, Tetanus and others. I believe with each of the aforementioned diseases, you may want to hear more or know more even though you might have heard quite a little about them  ; but unfortunately and for the sake of the article title at hand, I will just take you through one very common disease amongst them which is putting humanity on lots of danger; and that I'm referring to 'HEPATITIS'. Hepatitis is one disease that comes in many forms and I'm even sure the types in which

Gods of the unknown

Image
I have lingered through the dark. Like a fearless stag, I walk. To a land I have heard of , To a mystery I am pertained. To an unknown source I strengthen. They tell me I am good for them . Good for their success. But in real life I am but an object Object of sacrifice to the god of the unknown. They use my parts for rituals . Saying I consist the perfect matter, I entangled with them in this dance of a worthless battle. I know I am right and they wrong . But they say they have a god , A god who redeems . Putting my beliefs to dormancy. They dominate my body . Crawling to my soul. There I die of worthlessness. I die of shame . There I die in bondage . I die in shame . Fear has clouded me because I have borne out my unknown before them. Now they use my pain , grief and secrets to haunt and taunt me . But I have seen shame and disgust , And they look alike . I have seen a light that gave me hope . I remembered where I fell

A friend with "weed" is a friend in need

Image
Without too much pharmacology or phytochemistry and words like Tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol,  cannabinol,  tetrahydrocannabivar, CB1 &2 receptors, I seek to simply get the message well absorbed. So in spite of my strong predisposition to use big scientific words I will try to use simple english as much as possible. For clarity sake. It will be unfair not acknowledge that this piece was purely inspired by the great piece by Prince Acquah Rockson under the Heading, "A friend with weed is a friend indeed." A recreational user takes marijuana for the effect it creates and the high or buzz they want to get from it. Continued use builds up tolerance and can lead users to consume stronger drugs to achieve the same high. Drug dealers, motivated by the profits they make, will say anything to get you to buy their drugs. some of the stories they tell includes but not limited to increase in academic performance and increase in manual productivity and the almighty medical mari

A friend with weed is a friend indeed

Image
A friend with weed is a friend indeed is now a prevalent proverb that was brought out of the old and wise saying, " A friend in need is a friend indeed." In recent times, the use of hard drugs has become very common especially among the youth. Among them, it has been realized that weed has the highest rate of consumption and this is due to the legal terms that has been associated with weed. In some parts of the world, for instance Nevada the domestic use of weed has been legalized and it was surprising to know the number of people who queued to get some rolls of weed. The question i ask myself is, " Does weed now do us more good than harm or it has been genetically modified to perform miracles?" The answers to these questions are subjective depending on opinions or testimonies that have and are being shared. I doubt physicians now recommend weed as a cure or treatment of an ailment yet people argue on its good medicinal effect and its ability to affect your emotio

Back To The Basics: Reviving Ghana's Agriculture.

Image
Attest with me to the fact that since the beginning of this world, agriculture has been the most practiced and sustained profession/occupation. In fact I can say that it is the most important revolution that has ever happened to man. Asking ourselves today, is agriculture really what it used to be back in those days? As for me I will say that agriculture back in those days was more  lucrative than I assume it is in our time. Here's why; back in those days most of you will bear me out that agriculture was practiced on family basis such that no matter who you are or how you carried yourself, you will till the ground when the time for farming was due. Though currently, the family farming system may or may not exist; but let's ask ourselves that 'how many are into it and even those in it, how lucrative is it for them?' With current advancement in the world, people 'misconceptionally' assume agriculture or farming occupation is meant to be practiced by the rural

What You're Is Who You're; Embrace Yourself!

It's of no doubt that what we accept about nature is what keeps us conscious. One undisputed fact is that 'no one can ever cheat nature.' So many people have forgotten that no matter how alike they may be with others, they're are made in a unique way. Nowadays, so many people doubt who they're due to certain life factors ( skin tone, body shape and size, walk of life, social class, among many others) but I ask this; must that be the case? I say a big no to with my reasons being these; as individuals from different parts of the world, we are who we are because of what we are, what we possess uniquely and what we accept and don't accept about ourselves. Let me use my own personal experience as an example; I was in a bus travelling to Kumasi, a city in Ghana when I had an encounter with this young woman. In fact she was fat but pretty. As we sat in the bus, I could see her flipping through her pictures on her smartphone. So I decided to poke a little and this

Time-Piece

Image
We are all used to this quote" Time is money". Everybody seem to have heard about this in different occasions in their lives but the question is, how many have really thought through on this? We have made it so generic to the point where we can't even realise it has lost it's power to inform us with the message it really carries. Everybody knows this quote but no one is willing to make a meaning out of it. We have unconsciously restricted it to the rich in society and we only believe its power to change circumstances when its coming from wealthy personalities. How sad...? Think about time, "Time is money". Every human has the same measure of time for an hour,a day, a week,a year and so on but why then do others tend to be very fruitful with their time whiles others do not.? It about how effective your time is to you than how long it lasts. We have been made to believe time is money but no one has taken the burden to make us understand the greatest tre
