Rise of Terrorism
The term terrorism can be traced at least to the first century. It has no definite definition but from my point of view terrorism is a criminal violent act of an individual or group of people just to achieve a political goal or their own selfish acts. To mention a few of the countries that have been a victim of terrorism include America, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria and just recently France. One can tell how bad this situation is just by watching the news. A total number of 9,929 deaths occurred in Iraq in 2014. One can just imagine the effects it may have had on others, especially families of deceased ones.
I don't agree with terrorism being major or minor. Terror is terror. Endangering just a life can cost someone a lot in his or her current situation. Take this scenario where a man catering for a family of 5 decides to go and watch a football game and he's stabbed unluckily for him leading to his death. Just imagine whatever that will happen to the rest of his family if he's the only bread winner here. Top 5 terrorist attacks so far include Truck bombing of U.S Embassies, Beslan massacre, Oklahoma City federal building bombing, 1st World Trade Center bombing and the famous 9/11 attack . You can just imagine how dire and inhuman all these attacks are which can possibly lead to poverty in developing countries. This is because money or funds generated which can be used in developing certain sectors such as the Agriculture sector will now be used in rebuilding affected sites.
I bet most people will support me on the stand that terrorism is a big threat to every country, therefore any possible means available to avoid or prevent it should be put in place. This will surely help in at least improving the standard of living of the people and promote peace and harmony. I believe report of any suspicious activities by the good citizens of the country to the police will also aid in fighting terrorism. Therefore let us light our torches of flaming desire to quench this malicious act of terrorism. Thank you.
