MATTERS OF THE HEART
In this world, people go all extents to make things happen. The rich and poor both have their own way of doing things. It becomes so disheartening when the rich decide not to open up to help the poor. Well, you wouldn't know whether the poor asked and didn't receive but the thing is, can't the rich also see? Can't they see people need help around them? It becomes disturbing when the rich rather sit somewhere and talk ill about the poor; say things like ,"they are lazy or because of the bad life they led that is why they are suffering today"(which could be true in some situations) and other morale-breaking statements.
It leaves me to look at things the way I see them without being judgmental, yeah, because you don't know the pains, worries and hatred that drives some people to do what they do(dubious acts). It looks like they had no choice. Let us consider this situation. A young boy of age say fifteen is not being catered for by his parents. He has relatives who are well to do but they look elsewhere(the opposite direction this young boy looks). He cries to neighbours and friends but they hide behind caring but selfish faces and tell him they cannot help him knowing they could. This young boy falls into bad company and indulge in social vices such as cyber fraud or armed robbery and brings trouble into the society. You see, it then looks like society has gotten what it gave! To quote a wise one, "share your riches with the poor before they share their poverty with you". One may ask, "couldn't this young boy channel his energy ,pains and worries into any other positive venture"? Well, my dear, he could but one thing I know is, it's not always easy as it seems without supervision and motivation with love and care.
*WORD*: I am not saying those who find themselves in such despairing situations should associate in social vices. They should take heart and involve themselves in productive trade and try as much as possible to shun all negative influences.
A lot could be said about these pressing issues concerning young boys and girls hanging out on their own without the "world" looking out for them. We only know how to chastise and criticize them when their results are wrong. It is when they get themselves pregnant and caught in police custody that we begin to raise our whipping voices at them.
We could do better you know, maybe, encouraging them not to give up alone could help them think and look straight. I think this is the least I can do, by adding my voice. Creating awareness of such situations I believe can really go far to curb them and make the world a better place for all.
